The Program
The Preferred Builders Self-Insured Group was established in 1999 by CHSI of Nevada, working with a committed group of Nevada contractors who were interested in building a program that would assist them in controlling their Workers’ Compensation costs and gaining greater operational efficiencies. Preferred Builders established itself as a program for contractors who wanted a real integration of safety and operations, safety that truly prevented loss and controlled costs. As a cooperative of contractors, Preferred Builders has a Board of Trustees, comprised of members, that is the decision-making authority of the group. CHSI applies its experience and expertise in alternative risk financing to manage Preferred Builders for the members, working closely with the Board of Trustees and providing oversight to all service partners in the program.
